Welcome To
Our Office
Thank you for
visiting our Web Site
We chose the name Kids Love To Smile
because we are dedicated to promoting beautiful healthy smiles
for the children that we treat. Both of our dentists are
pediatric specialists who have completed a two year residency
program in the treatment of children and adolescents. This
training included areas such as trauma, sedation, child
psychology, cosmetic dentistry, and treatment of mentally and
physically challenged patients. Because of this special
training, many parents choose a pediatric dentist to treat
their children. Besides being highly trained, our pediatric
dentists and staff are caring individuals who will make every
effort possible so that your child has a pleasant experience.
We understand how fearful some children can be. Our doctors
are prepared for this and will strive to make your child
comfortable.
Now, let’s introduce
you to our pediatric dentists.
Ira Kushnir DDS
Dr. Kushnir, who is affectionately known to his patients as
“DR IRA” is originally from Chicago. He first became
interested in the field of dentistry after undergoing
orthodontic treatment himself. He attended both undergraduate
and dental school at Washington University in St. Louis,
Missouri, where he received degrees of Bachelor of Arts and
Doctor of Dental Surgery. He spent the next two years in a
pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s Medical Center in
Dayton, Ohio. As part of this residency program, he attended
classes in pediatric dentistry at Indiana University, School
of Dentistry in Indianapolis.
Dr Kushnir is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the American
Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the active
staff of Dayton Children’s Hospital, where he consults and
treats patients who come through their emergency department.
He is a member of many other professional organizations
including the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental
Association, and the Dayton Dental Society, where he served
for two years as a board member.
Through the years, Dr. Kushnir has attended hundreds of hours
of continuing education classes. He is a regular attendee of
the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry. He has completed numerous hours studying
orthodontics for children and adolescents at the University of
Detroit, School of Dentistry. In addition, Dr Kushnir holds a
conscious sedation permit, granted by the Ohio State Dental
Board. This permit is granted only when the dentist has
sufficient postgraduate education followed by an on-site
office inspection for sedation qualifications and safety.
Although Dr. Ira has many years of experience, he has not lost
his enjoyment and enthusiasm for taking care of his young
patients. Many of the parents say that Dr Ira’s personality
has a way of calming the children and helping them to overcome
their fears of the dentist. That may be why so many of Dr.
Ira’s former patients who have had children of their own,
bring them back to him.
Dr. Ira and his wife Barbara reside in Dayton. They have two
children. Outside of the practice, Dr. Ira enjoys running,
golf, reading, and spending time with his Tibetan Terriers.

Angela DeMoss DMD
Dr. DeMoss is originally from Madisonville, Kentucky. She
received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kentucky Wesleyan
University and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the
University of Kentucky in Lexington. Following graduation from
dental school, she moved to Cleveland where she spent the next
two years in a pediatric dentistry residency program. Her
hospital exposure was at Rainbow Babies and Children’s and her
academic classes were held at Case Western, School of
Dentistry. The hospital where Dr. DeMoss was trained is ranked
among the top five children’s hospitals in the country. Her
residency gave her extensive experience in all phases of
pediatric dentistry including treatment of patients with a
wide range of unusual medical conditions. Following her
residency program, Dr. DeMoss practiced pediatric dentistry in
Norfolk, Virginia for one year. She then relocated to Dayton,
Ohio where she joined Dr. Kushnir. The two doctors have worked
together since 1994.
Dr. DeMoss is an active member of the American Academy of
Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the active staff at
Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, where she
treats patients under general anesthesia when necessary. She
is also a member of various other professional organizations
including the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental
Association, and the Dayton Dental Society, where she is a
member of the Mass Disaster Group.
Dr. DeMoss feels that it is very important that our office
keep up with all of the latest techniques, equipment, and
technology. As a result, she has attended over the years, an
extensive amount of continuing education classes. She is
certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and has a special
interest in forensic dentistry. In addition, Dr. DeMoss holds
a conscious sedation permit, granted by the Ohio State Dental
Board. Only dentists who hold this permit are allowed to give
sedation to children.
Dr. DeMoss is committed to providing the highest quality
pediatric dental services to her patients and their parents.
She emphasizes prevention of dental problems before they
occur. For those children who already have conditions that
require treatment, she will approach the child in a caring and
compassionate way. She spends extra time talking with the
child and parent to make sure that the dental visit is a
positive experience for the young patient.
When not in the office, Dr. DeMoss is often doing volunteer
work for organizations such as Good Neighbor House, Mothers of
Preschoolers, and National Children’s Dental Health Month. In
addition, Angela enjoys working with kids by teaching Sunday
School at her church. Her leisure time is spent with staying
fit, outdoor activities, reading and cooking.
